The Church of the Madonna del Cielo, which already existed in 1730, stands out among the fields of the Cupone area from the town of Laurito. Renovated in the 1950s, it is a simple, almost quadrangular structure, completed by a pronaos and a side portico, which closes with a semicircular apse and is embellished with a terracotta floor similar to that of the church of the Madonna del Carmine. Inside, the marble altar is surmounted by a fine polychrome wood tabernacle: clearly made of aroccheggiante, it is adorned with two lateral columns with Corinthian capitals and embellished at the top center with a halo and a dove, representing the Holy Spirit . This structure surrounds the shrine that houses the statue of the Virgin, which in its archaic stillness rests on a throne of clouds and has the Child next to it, whose size is not proportionate to the statue itself.
